Yamnuska Mountain Adventures offers a variety of specialty and custom programs. Our hiking and backpacking cross-over programs include scrambling, leadership, and wilderness first aid.
Yamnuska Mountain Adventures also has an extensive course listing for rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, avalanche safety, backcountry skiing, and our flag ship program, the 3-month mountain skills semesters that are offered in Canada or a Canada/New Zealand split. Specialty Courses & Programs
Mountain Scrambling Skills Course: The intent of Scrambling Skills is to give you the skills to safely climb the scramble peaks and not put yourself or partners at unnecessary risk. We will teach you how to assess terrain for ascent and descent, route finding techniques, safety systems and techniques for steep terrain, and how to deal with snow and icy sections and natural hazards.
Wilderness First Aid: This 10-day (80 hour) course is the industry standard for outdoor professionals. Many organizations require it as part of their job qualifications.
Custom Tours & Day Hikes: We organize trips for individuals, families and groups of all ages. While we operate mainly in Canada we can also organize trips to other parts of the world such as the Himalayas, Andes or European Alps.
