Early Season Avalanche Skills Training

Snow is finally dumping in Banff, Lake Louise and Canmore. This current storm dropped an additional 20cm at Bow Summit yesterday and the snow pack will quickly build from here.

Our first Avalanche Skills Training 1 Course (AST1) runs this weekend, Nov 20 at our office in Canmore. For those who are taking this course, it will run as scheduled. However, because we want our students to get the best avalanche training possible, we are offering our November students a chance to come back on another field day to ensure they see a more complex layered snow pack.

By running an additional field day, we maintain our commitment as the leader in technical training and guest service. Anyone who takes an avalanche course from Yamnuska will walk away with exposure to the highest industry standards. We are committed to being the premier mountain school in Canada and believe we live up to this reputation by constantly reviewing the output and quality of our programs.

Also, due to overwhelming demand for our early season AST 1 courses, we have added an additional Canmore-based program for the December 11th -12th/10 weekend. You can register on the program website or give us a call at the office to book a spot.

Thank you for choosing us as your avalanche training provider!
