Please read the following information to ensure that you fully understand how payments are made, our booking conditions, our cancellation policy and about our waiver. Once informed you are ready to book a program, either by calling our office or by booking on-line. Please note that some of our programs have special booking restrictions, please visit our Esplanade Track Booking Details page if you are joining us for this trip.
Prices
Prices are in Canadian Dollars. US dollar prices vary with exchange rate fluctuations. This Exchange Calculator will help you get an idea of how much our programs cost in your currency.
All prices are subject to change.
Methods of Payment
We accept MasterCard, Visa, Canadian & US checks, Money Orders, Bank Drafts & Transfers. Credit card payments are easiest to process. If paying substantial amounts from overseas you may get a better exchange rate by sending us a bank draft or making a telegraphic transfer in your own currency. We can supply our bank details on request.
- We require an Initial deposit of 35% of price.
- Balance of payment is due 8 weeks before program start.
- Full payment must accompany bookings made less than 8 weeks before program start.
Booking Conditions
- There is a degree of hazard in all mountain activities. All participants must sign the Yamnuska waiver of liability prior to commencing any Canadian Rockies Hiking or Yamnuska Mountain Adventures program. Read sample waiver.
- Canadian Rockies Hiking and Yamnuska Mountain Adventures reserve the right to change or cancel any itinerary or service at any time due to insufficient enrolment, bad weather conditions or other reasons without penalty to Yamnuska Mountain Adventures.
- The participation of any person on any program is continually subject to the discretion of the program leader and Yamnuska Mountain Adventures.
- Canadian Rockies Hiking and Yamnuska Mountain Adventures accept no responsibility for the actions of persons and/or companies supplying goods and/or services as part of these packages or for any extra costs that may arise from the complication or prolongation of any program for any reason.
- Your physician must clear any health problems that may affect your participation in any program.
- In the unlikely event of an emergency, participants may, depending upon program location be liable for any rescue or evacuation costs incurred either on their behalf or as a result of their actions.
Cancellation and Refund Policies
Should Canadian Rockies Hiking by Yamnuska cancel a program payment will be refunded.
Should you cancel your booking for any reason the following penalties apply:
- If cancelling most programs up to 8 weeks before the program start, $105 will be withheld. Higher amounts are withheld if cancelling Semesters or Expeditions (details on request).
- Between 8 and 6 week before program start deposit is forfeited.
- Cancellation less than 6 weeks before program start and during program results in loss of entire amount paid.
Cancellations must be received in writing (letter, fax or email). Cancellations are only effective once your notification is received by Canadian Rockies Hiking by Yamnuska. Please note that special booking and cancellation policies apply to the Esplanade Track Hut to Hut trip, please visit our Esplanade Track Booking Details page if you are joining us for this trip.
Insurance
In most program areas there is no charge for rescue so long as you have a valid National Park Entry Pass (typically included in program cost). However, it is wise to ensure that your health plan will cover you in case of illness or accident while here.
Canadian Rockies Hiking and Yamnuska offers two types of insurance for coverage of different types of activities:
1. Hiking and Backpacking programs are covered by Travel Guard’s "Visitors to Canada Plan and Gold Trip Cancellation and Interruption Plan". These plans offer comprehensive coverage for all your travel needs including trip cancellation/interruption, emergency medical expenses, and personal effects loss. 2. Scrambling, Glacier Hiking (Wapta Ice Hike), Skiing, and other mountaineering related activities are covered by Travel Guard’s "Adventure Travel Protection Plan" which is available to Canadians and US guests and offers comprehensive coverage for trip cancellation/interruption, emergency medical expenses, and personal effects loss. This is a copy of the waiver you will be required to sign immediately before commencing a Yamnuska program. You will sign this in the presence of Yamnuska staff and other participants. Signing this waiver is a condition of participation. All program participants, regardless of whether climbing or hiking sign the same waiver.
