These trips have been specially selected for those who are looking for a more relaxed backpacking experience. With less distance travelled each day and shorter itineraries, we keep pack weights manageable and focus on easier to access, but still spectacular, areas of the Mountain Parks. In our packs we have our personal clothing, sleeping bag and mat plus a share of group food and camping gear.

Mount Robson Hike: Mount Robson, monarch of the Canadian Rockies, towers over Berg Lake and the extensive sub-alpine forests and tundra stretching to the northwest. It is the constant backdrop on this, our most relaxed backpacking trip.

Skoki Circuit: In the Canadian Rockies, not far to the east of Lake Louise lie vast alpine meadows linked by forested valleys and narrow passes. The Skoki region has been a favorite with mountain travelers to the Canadian Rockies for well over a century.

Bluerock Country: In June we hike in the Front Ranges of the Canadian Rockies where a drier climate allows us to travel in the backcountry when the meadows of the Continental Divide are covered in snow! A delightful easy to moderate trip totally evocative of the region.

Easiest Walking Tours:

Our walking and hiking tours are great for guests looking for the same great scenery of Canada's Mountain Parks, but who do not wish to carry heavy packs, or "rough it" in the wilderness. Most of these, our easiest hiking tours, are either backcountry lodge or hotel based, so you are returning to the comfort of a warm room and comfy mattress after a great day of hiking on the area's trails.

Esplanade Track: Linking alpine cirques, lake and meadows, the Esplanade Track follows the skyline of one of British Columbia's most beautiful ranges. Running parallel to the Canadian Rockies, the Track offers exceptional panoramic views of the Rockies most famous peaks ... Robson, Columbia and Assiniboine.

Parks and Mountains of Western Canada: This exciting journey from Vancouver to Calgary uncovers the natural splendours of Canada's finest national and provincial parks. From the rugged west coast mountains, across the southern reaches of British Columbia and finally to the dramatic heights of the Rocky Mountains, we discover a vast wilderness of countless alpine lakes and pristine forests set beneath a backdrop of high peaks and tumbling glaciers.

Canadian Rockies Walking Tour: Wildflowers, mountain scenery and exercise from the Front Ranges of the Canadian Rockies to Great Divide in Banff, Jasper, Kootenay and Yoho National Parks. This trip is hotel based and available for private departures from June until September.

Mount Assiniboine Walking Tour: Helicopter into a UNESCO World Heritage Site to hike and explore one of the world's most beautiful mountain locations. This program is available for private departures from July until September.
